Open RP-Great Hall

Mar 22, 2009 11:45

After his sorting Ginko had stayed inside Hogwarts for three days. He found himself a room and familiarized himself with ways to the Great Hall and Library, then he took his wooden case and traveled outside of Hogwarts. He quietly observed the differences and similarities in how people behave and what kind of world this future setting is compared ( Read more... )

Turlough had come in, slightly ash-y, ranting about how much of an idiot Lezard is and to get his food run out of the way.

The rather bad mood culminated in him saying to Ginko "and you! Don't sleep here!"

From his vision of the river of light he hears someone talking to him and he slowly opens his eyelids.

"Is there a rule against sleeping in here?" he says calmly, even though he wasn't sleeping.

"No! It's just uncomfortable and idiotic! Not to mention impossible, when so many people come in here!" Turlough stood against another table, looking at him.

"Then it is a good thing I wasn't trying to sleep," Ginko wonders if he missed something while he was away.

"Can you see through your eyelids?" Lezard Valeth inquires with amiable curiosity.

"Not what is in front of me, but I do see something," Ginko explains. He'd have to be infected by a certain rare mushi to see through his eyelids.

"I assumed there must be some such power, otherwise you'd hardly be lolling about the Great Hall just begging for someone to deface you." Lezard grins. "What is it that you do see, with your eyes closed?"

"When I close my second eyelid I see true darkness, then a river of light underneath me. I'm not sure how odd that sounds here, and I usually explain the river to those who also see it." An infinite amount of kouki mushi flowing in one direction. A river of life itself that can give one the power of immortality, raising the dead, and more, but it is forbidden to use the river. He opens his eyelids so he can see who he is talking to better.

Yukimura was determined that he would not allow Karasu's presence nor his fixation deter him from going around the castle much. He was more cautious, somewhat, trying to feel before he went anywhere, trying to make sure that he wasn't being followed when he spent any time with anyone. But there were times he needed to eat and the Great Hall was a place to do that. He wouldn't be cooped up in his room. He refused to be cowed to that. He sits near enough the other person that they could talk, but far enough away the he could be ignored.

He opens his eyelids when he hears Yukimura sit down and turns to look in the other man's direction before saying, "Pardon me, but is there any definite time that one stays here before returning home?"

Yukimura considered a moment. "Not that I know. I have seen some here a very short time and others have been here several years. Some, even, have left and returned, their memories rarely intact."

"I see, thank you. Is there anything else that I should know that I might not have learned in my sorting?" Since he could potentially be here for a while, it's better to know what is normal so he can better spot the abnormal.

Mikami was finally making himself leave his room. There was no good reason not to. He had the wards that Kurama had sent him, he had his wand, and he could run if he had to, even though his mind kept insisting that magical healing couldn't possibly work that quickly and he must still be in pain. Nothing was wrong with him, he wasn't going to be beaten, he was going outside. Even if God had abandoned him. Even if he couldn't sleep for longer than an hour at a time without waking up sick with panic.

Even if seeing Ginko apparently asleep at the table made him shudder. How could anyone do that? Leave himself so vulnerable? Mikami cleared his throat, resisting the urge to shake him. Hopefully, he wouldn't need to.

"Is there something you need?" he opens his eyelids as he speaks.

"This - isn't a good place to sleep," he explained, awkwardly.

"Why is here anymore unsafe than elsewhere?" he's curious.
