Yukimura stood on the steps of the castle, dressed in a simple red flowered kimono. The harvest season was slipping rapidly into winter. Soon, any practice would have to be within the castle. The katana on his hip soon sang through the air as he danced across the lawn with it. The kimono was more difficult to fight in than his normal clothing

"Not the most effective outfit to fight in."

Says the man who took down an assassin in a suit and tie.

Yukimura laughed. "That, actually, is the point. There are times when distraction," he paused and waved his hand, showing the, to him, obviously feminine clothing off.

Thank god crossdressing's one thing Dethklok hasn't done (yet).

"Hope they are distracted by a kimono-wearing man. Some people are singleminded and wouldn't notice until you're dead." The metal-masked assassin popped up in the back of his mind. Ofdensen shuddered.

"Many warriors will hesitate before striking a woman, or one they think is a woman. Those that won't, they would have to be faster than I am," he laughed.

Wishbone was chasing leaves again. He didn't care it it was useless or tiring, it was fun! He stopped a bit to catch his breath and sees Yukimura practicing.

Who are you fighting?

Yukimura paused a moment to consider the question. "Against myself," he replied. "That is the strongest enemy, isn't it?" he asked with a laugh.

Mmmm, maybe. Wishbone got closer and caught Yukimura's scent. Now he remembered this person! He said the uncomfortable things! Wishbone stopped, not getting closer.

"My sensei said as much to me when I was learning," he said, his tone easy. He did remember the dog running from him, frightened by something. "He said that if I could overcome myself, then I would overcome any who faced me."

Well, the Chairman was enjoying autumn. He was feeling quite pleased today; he had gotten a letter that his nephew had successfully pulled off an offal battle (on Halloween, no less!).

He paused to watch Yukimura practice, smiling faintly. During one of his pauses, he applauded.

Yukimura bowed with a little flourish. He sheathed his blade and walked over. "And, how are you today, Kaga-san?" he asked politely.

"Delighted. My nephew successfully had a battle with a theme that I dared not even try." He still had a faint smile, Yukimura did look nice in the kimono.

Yukimura raised an eyebrow. "There are things you will not try?" he asked, though he knew the answer. Everyone had things that were off-limits, even him. "I am pleased to hear it went well, then." He stepped a little closer. "Did you study kendo?"

Tenel Ka had come out to practice her own fighting skills, but was content to watch another skilled person at work. The one-armed warrior girl had on a lizard hide tunic and shorts, with only thick combat boots to protect her legs.

"Greetings," she said during a pause, to let him know he had company, but she suspected that he already knew she had been watching.

Yukimura sheathed his sword and bowed. "Greetings. Were you going to practice? Or would you like to spar?" he asked, noting her clothing. She seemed much more prepared for practice than he was.

She considered it. "I have not sparred since I came here," she said, "and I would enjoy the opportunity. However, I do not think our weapons are compatible." Tenel Ka unclipped her lightsaber from her belt. Without the glowing energy blade, the weapon appeared to be only a large canine tooth as long as her forearm.

Yukimura frowned at the object uncertainly. "It looks to be only a hilt," he said. "Is the blade damaged? There are boken we could use instead."

"Don't you look cute today," Kurama greeted, coming up alongside Yukimura. He hadn't really been looking for him, but after speaking with Kaga, he was sure to hold open an opportunity to tease him a little about his new paramour.

Yukimura smiled. "Thank you," he said. He paused, letting his sword hang loosely at his side. His gaze lingered on Kurama's hair a moment longer as it wasn't quite what he expected to see. "It is a challenge to fight in a kimono," he continued with only the slightest hesitation between the words.

"Yukimura, I am sure you could attempt any challenge and finish with grace and aplomb," he grinned. Noticing the way Yukimura's eye's lingered, he shrugged. "I'll explain if you want me to."

"High praise from one such as yourself," Yukimura said, bowing respectfully, slightly deeper than to an equal, but not quite deep enough to be to a superior. "And, if it is free to tell, then I should be interested."
