Jezz limped round the corner with his latest acquisitions from the library, took note of the other person in the corridor, and lifted an eyebrow even as he nodded in acknowledgment.
Jezz was no powerhouse at the best of times, and his trip had turned up more of a load than planned. The books were swaying precariously now, and it took all of his agility to stop them thudding all over the floor. He lowered the stack to one side instead, and then followed, pivoting to lean back against the wall, quite casually, with his braced leg sticking out.
He'd have liked to have waited until he was well away from witnesses, but it couldn't be helped, and at least it wasn't a complete pratfall.

He got a good enough look at his face to see his name was in some alphabet he can't read.
Great. Bad enough he sees many names in one day, worse when he can't read them. No wonder he's going insane.
