App: DG, Tin Man

((This aired recently so I guess I should warn for spoilers, but it's based on the Wizard of Oz so, spoilers for that too? XD))

DG frowned curiously, this wasn't a room in the castle, it was a room in a castle yes. But not the one she was meant to be in. The one where she'd been not that long before. "Oh boy, where am I now." She looked around her ( Read more... )

((Much fangirling over here!))

It had been a while since an applicant had caught Sarah's curiosity, but this application certainly had.

"Hi, I'm Sarah, welcome to Hogwarts," she said with a smile as she held out her hand. She had never been one for jumping right into questioning applicants, and the applications themselves were really only a one-sided introduction.

"Hey, I'm DG." She shook the hand offered with a smile. "Hogwarts? What sort of name is that? And where is it?" Because once more she'd found herself somewhere she wasn't sure where she was.

"A silly-sounding sort of name," Sarah answered cheerfully then grinned. "But as it's a magic school in Scotland, I suppose it fits as a name."

She studied DG for a moment, a smile still on her face. "It's a school for learning magic, at least independently now, but it's also magic itself. Anyone can end up here for no reason at all, so a lot of people have no idea where they are or why they'd be here when they first arrive in the Sorting room."

"No sillier than some of the things back where I'm from." She blinked. "Scotland, so I'm back on the other side." That was strange, but no stranger than anything else, least it meant she stood a chance of being able to get back home.

"Magic, huh." She was grinning. "Magic I can do." Proud that was actually starting to have some proper control over what she could do. "Well I can certainly say I don't know why I'm here."

"I AM BEOWULF," proclaimed a tall muscular blond warrior, clad only in a black leather loincloth despite the drafty chill of Hogwarts in December. "I BID YOU SPEAK MORE OF THIS 'NOT-CHEESE'. BE IT A MONSTER?"

"Hey." Look she's trying her best not to laugh or look anywhere below his neck. "I'm DG, and the not-cheese? Well I guess it's a monster. I mean taking over where real cheese should be." Be amazed as she sounds vaguely serious.

"A princess? Really?" Molly had met a fair amount of people at Hogwarts, but never an actual princess. "What kind of princess?"

"Oh yeah." DG grinned. "What kind? Just the regular kind I guess, my mom's the Queen of the O.Z and I have a sister who's a princess too, we both know magic, learned it since we were little."

"A different kind than we've got here?" Molly knew there were all sorts of magic, not just the stuff taught at Hogwarts, but she'd never really met anyone who could do it.

"Hey," Ray said, throwing up hands up and smiling. "By 'not cheese', are we talking American? Because that right there is cuisine."

"I was." DG frowned. "Really? Because I never thought it was. There has to be much better stuff to eat."

"Well, I mean, you don't eat just the stuff. That's barbaric." ...and something Ray had definitely done when there was nothing else in the fridge and he was too lazytired to go to the store. Ah, the life of a bachelor. "But on burgers and fries and sandwiches? Classic."

((Reposted for typo, sorry!))

"You don't answer a lot of questions," Ron said. He quickly held up his long hands. "I don't mind!" Ron added. "It's just, aren't you worried that that might affect your sorting?"

"Not really, though I'm not really sure what's happening though. I mean I thought I answered them all."

"Well, You didn't say which member of the Order you'd harass, if you were Dumbledore. I know you said you wouldn't do that to anyone, but that isn't you. It's you as Dumbledore, right? You wouldn't say which one you would kill first in regards to Carrottop or Barney. And you didn't even try to marry my brothers off."

"It's not like I want you to answer those questions, really. They're real insulting! But... three entire questions? Aren't you worried that you wouldn't be let in?"
