For the Whales!

((Open RP in the Great Hall. Backdated to Chance and Dax's Meetup at Ravenclaw.

It had been a rather pleasant evening for Dax and Chance. They met at the Ravenclaw bar, had some thinly veiled girl-talk, and generally enjoyed one another’s company.

That was until they had a drink of the purple stuff. Now, the formerly hygienic, productive ( Read more... )

'Have you become a hippie?' Rose asks, surprised. She didn't expect Dax to become one. But...'My mummy was probably one once.'

"A hippie?" Dax took a moment to consider. Rose said she was a hippie. Rose was usually right about stuff. "Yeah! I'm a hippie. Did you know whales are good for auras?"

Dax is a good scientist; always learning. Rose is ALWAYS right.

'I know that Wales (the country) is good for fixing people. It had Saffy's angel, Indy's car and Caddy's house.'

She pauses. 'But not my inheritance. Maybe Mummy lost her aura in Wales.'

Inwardly, she's a little worried. It's like when Mummy was crying after she found out Daddy had a Samantha and liked her better than Mummy. She had pretended not to see, but... Indigo had found Mort D'Arthur then, though, and it made it a tiny bit better.

And of course she had found Tom in the end.

"No one can lose their aura," Chance says with confidence. "Your mother needs to meet the whales, or possibly a platypus, that's all."

*Demyx is starting to get used to walking everywhere - apparently, you can only open portals in the Sorting Room. He attempts to slip in quietly, but trips on a stray crystal, skids across the floor, and lands flat on his face near the two scientists-turned-hippies. He looks up.* This'd probably be more effective if I was leaning mysteriously against the wall, but I might as well say it here.

*He gets to his feet and raises an eyebrow, attempting to lean mysteriously on a lack of wall.* What exactly gives everyone the impression that the whales can't take care of themselves? I've met a couple whales, and they seem to do just fine.

"Maybe you've met whales, guitar-dude, but I'm related to a whale. And they totally want us to join Greenpeace. And buy brownies."

*Demyx rolls his eyes.* So nice to see I'm remembered. I have to say, you don't look like you're related to a whale, except maybe as both being mammals. There's a definite size difference.

And whales aren't very talkative, as a rule. Except in Whale.

"As a rule?" Dax shook her head. Poor, confused, guitar-dude. "You can't apply rules to whales. They're beyond that. They swim free...in the ocean of Greenpeace."

A man in a towel walked by the two stoned soul sisters making posters in the hallway. Aura cleansing for Greenpeace? Hmm.

"What have the whales done to deserve brownies?" Dieter asked, hitching the towel up a little higher around his waist. The movement caused the towel to flap open for a second, making it clear that only a little bit of terrycloth was keeping Dieter from the world.

Chance regarded this fine specimen of mammal flesh with wide eyes. "Wow," she breathed. "You're so in tune with your own body."

"Yes," Dieter said. "Being in tune with the body promotes being in tune with the soul, bringing unity to a person. However, there comes a time when one must be above the flesh, to let the soul triumph. Is that what you're doing for the whales?" he asked.

"Yes," Chance told him with absolute conviction. "That's exactly what we're doing with the whales. And the brownies."
