She did notice that Dr. Maturin did indeed seem to be in high spirits, more so than she'd seen him before. "You seem in an awfully good mood, Doc. How's Sarah?"

Abby blinked, then the pieces fell into place. Inevitable...death was inevitable. Abby had already met Death, who was actually pretty cool. What if she wasn't the only one. She looked at Rube as if seeing him for the first time since he walked into the room.
"You're dead, or you were dead. You help people die, don't you?"
