Ambassador Kosh Naranek, "Babylon 5"

Dec 16, 2006 20:51

A strange, imposing figure glides into the Sorting room and glances around incuriously. When it speaks, its voice is deep and sonorous, its words accompanied by a strange babble of fainter, incomprehensible voices.

The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote. )

application, kosh naranek

"Guessing you aren't from round these parts, stranger." He's trying not to smirk.

"Not exactly... no." Jack raised an eyebrow. "Are they all as talkative as you where you're from?"

Yes.

*wryly* You are very concise, sir. However, would you please elaborate on the nature of your sorting bribe?

Enlightenment. Revelation. For the future.

What form would this be in, sir? A vision, perhaps, or a dream?

No two moments are the same.

Hi. *waves* If it's the hour of scampering, what are we scampering from?

Words are masks that hide true meaning.

...wow. That's deep. I should tell you, though, I used to hang out with people who like to talk backwards. You're gonna have to work harder than that to faze me.

Now, about this moment of perfect beauty. How do I know when or if it's happening?

Good.

You will be shown.

What sort of question would not be trivial?

*finds this a less than satisfactory answer, but suspects he will get nothing more useful from the applicant*

It is my belief, from what you have said in your application and from what you have said just now, that placing you in a House should have less to do with an evaluation of what you might do there, than an evaluation of how others in that House would be affected by your presence.

Therefore, I vote Sparklypoo.

*may sound very faintly amused*

As you wish.
