This piece of writing is terrific. One of the best Snape-centric gens I have read in a long time and I thank you for it. And damn you made me care for your OC :D I am also glad this had a happy ending for Severus and he ended up much better (inside and out) than when he started. :D Once again, thank you.
Really nicely done, just top notch. I loved the way your Snape developed, and also the way that all of your characters are just so adult (well, except for the ones that aren't supposed to be). Having Dudley's son turn out to be wizard was a stroke of genius.
Thank you so much! I don't know about genius-- more desperation to have a kid I could name myself. But it worked out well. Thanks for reading, and commenting. (Even though Giles wasn't in it.)
I started out in HP, actually, and then migrated to a couple different fandoms - these days I appreciate anything that makes sense of DH. I haven't even tried my hand at it yet; one of these days, it'll happen, I think.
Anyway, yeah, even calling the kid Al doesn't really help. WTF was she thinking?
Have lost track of LJ over the past few weeks, which has resulted in my having the pleasure of reading the whole story in one go and it was excellent.
I loved your handling of Snape and the thoughtful, soulful ghost he became. I don't read Harry Potter fanfics as a rule but am so glad to have read this one as there was so much good stuff in it to enjoy.
I'm so glad you liked it. You should read the postmortem, too-- I credit you in there with our Peter Pan discussion, though as you see, I ended up going a different direction there. Thanks again for reading, and commenting.
I enjoyed this fic, one question though did Snape ever find out that Harry named his one after him and Dumbledore ? I know you didn't want to use Albus Potter.
hmm... good question. I deliberately kept all the Potter children well away from this story-- no doubt they're off busy having their own adventures elsewhere. David is friends with Al, but they're in different houses, so they don't have much time together during the school year. Rose is different-- I see her taking Davey under her wing, just like her mother probably did-- someone who's bemusedly delighted to receive the benefit of her wisdom and knowledge. And then, well, hormones will be hormones

It had a really nice quiet tone and I felt like the shifts in Snape as a ghost made sense. I loved the backstory with the muggle studies professor.
sahiya83 pointed me at this, btw.
