I will confess that I am one of those disgruntled K/L shippers. I will additionally confess that their ending definitely disappointed me. HOWEVER (and this is a big, fat however), I LOVED the finale overall. I think it managed to hit all the right notes, to give the characters the ending that they deserved, and to be true to the spirit of the show. I was absolutely blown away by it, to the point that I almost couldn't sleep last night.
Reducing one's hatred of the finale to shipping isn't looking at the big picture. Sure, neither of my OTPs got the happy ending I hoped they would. I didn't come to the show for the shipping, and to leave it with a bad taste in my mouth because of that wouldn't be fair.
I respect the fact that a fair amount of people is disappointed about that particular segment of the finale but HATE it over this one thing? that's just too much
I've got to admit I was disappointed about the end of Lee and Kara. But I did not hate the finale. Not at all. I think their story was a very important part of the show, and I would have loved to get somehting more between them, but I won't say the entire episode sucked because of that. Because it didn't.
I srsly LOVE Kara/Lee, but they have grown in such entirely different directions that to have them ending up together would've made absolutely no sense at all.
I really liked the finale. But yeah, I could've gone w/o the 150,000 years bit too. But it gave me more head!Gaius, so I won't complain too much.

THAT. THAT's what I've spent most of the afternoon trying to explain to whoever wanted to listen to me. I mean, it was SO OBVIOUS that they weren't going to have a happy ending! And I'm a hardcore shipper, and it still hurts me and I still cry when I see those scenes, but Kara and Lee were NOT made to have a happy ending together.
Like I told Ack just now, I cried like a little girl (and I HATE the show, haha). I loved the goodbye scenes, especially Kara and Adama and then leaving Lee. I could not believe it for a whole second (denial) and then went straight to noooooo whyyyyy omgggg etc.
And damn, open spaces make Lee look even better. Hee. Of course I wish he'd stayed with Kara but there are no zombies in this ecuation. It was a very beautiful ending.
my baby is a survivor! lol no, seriously, I read that Helo and Athena were first supposed to die rescuing Hera! so he survived the miniseries and the finale against all odds! haha and between the moment he's shot and the end we don't see him and I admit I was scared he died :(
I looove that you cried too even though you don't like the show now hahaha
