I'm reading people's reactions right now and a fair number of people HATED the finale. HATED it. Why? Because Lee & Kara didn't end up together. That's what I read in 99% of the negative reaction posts like "omg I can't believe she told Sam she loved him and not Lee!!!"
1/ The show was NEVER about a ship (ugh how I hate the past tense there), if you were watching it only for Kara/Lee, or ANY ship, you're doing it wrong. This was not the Kara&Lee show
2/ Sam was dying and about to blow up into the Sun
3/ I thought the last Kara/Lee scene was very beautiful (and seriously, you can picture them living ever after on a farm or sth? that's NOT Kara & Lee, and I DO ship them, I'm a Kara multi-shipper lol)
4/ did she really NEED to say she loves him? He knows she does. But she can't stay, she's not herself anymore, she's dead, she's an Angel and her place is not with the "fleet" anymore. She passes on. This doesn't have anything to do with her loving Lee or not.
... was the pigeon a metaphor about how Lee couldn't catch Kara and had to let her slip away or sth?
oh and that RDM cameo? come on... it wasn't that much of a big deal... it's like 5 seconds of him holding a magazine
maybe as a LotR fan I'm just used to cameos hahaha
and WE know it's him but we're the internet geeks, how many watchers DID recognize him?
I did feel that the whole 150,000 years later segment was not necessary though, we didn't NEED to see it on screen, and ending with Hera in the fields was more beautiful imo
