You know, I don't want to poop on anyone's parade, but I am already getting sick of conciliatory blog entries from Democrats and Liberals. I'm not picking on anyone in particular, but hyperbolic statements read recently in a friends blog like 'It's been a long time. I want to echo some of this sentiment. I'm glad people are happy and i do agree with them that we'll probably be going from one of the less progressive administrations in modern history to (hopefully) one of the more progressive ones... but i think we have a way of magnifying the here and now and blowing it out of proportion a bit, and that the panic and paranoia surrounding both Bush administrations and this election has been a bit overstated.

From my standpoint -- and iirc i know you disagree on this point -- i consider most politics at the national level hopelessly wrought of bullsh*t to the point where i really don't think it means that much at all in the long run. I'm very tired of hearing how every Presidential election in the last decade is the crisis to end all crises, and how the world would end if so-and-so won... especially since so-and-so did win twice, and while i do feel he did some damage on quite a few fronts, we're all still here and in reasonably recoverable shape, and i have no guarantee that the other so-and-so ( ... )
