The Holidays were a cheerful and festive time. In fact, this season was Daphne Greengrass's favorite time of a year. Everyone seemed to be in a better mood around bright lights, wrapped presents, and the jingle bells. It was about the only time that she preferred to see snow on the ground rather than feel the sand between her toes

She had asked Andrew to be her date but that was more so she would have a date she knew she would have a good time with. Also she didn't want to be the only one attending without a date. She didn't expect him to be by her side all night and she was positive he wasn't expecting anything from her. She would be content with a dance or two and him actually acknowledging her in front of his friends.
The place was exquisite looking, Daphne had outdone herself. She had transformed the gallery and she knew Witch Weekly would be please. She stood with a glass of champagne off the side of the dance floor people watching.

Mandy laughed and nodded, "I'll be sure you let me know. Let me know if you will need food. You know my mom loves to cook for you." It was true. Mrs. Brocklehurst always loved Drew and the fact that he seemed to have a bottomless stomach.

"Don't temp me, Mandy. I'll be owling you every day for your mom's ravioli."

A new song was starting so she waited for him to make the first move since veryone was just moving around waiting to see what type of song it was. "She shared all her recipies with me last month. So give me a few months and maybe mine will be close enough to that." She shook her head, a few months was a long time away. Hopefully he'd forget about it and it was never to be brought up again. "But I'll be sure to let her know that you miss it."

In retrospect, he probably shouldn't have said it. But Drew was getting caught up in the moment and the glasses of champagne. The new song was slow and easy.
He wrapped one arm around the small of Mandy's back and took her hand in his other one.

She put her hand in his and her other on his upper arm adn started dancing to the music. She gave a little laugh," Right, my bad. Next time I go to a formal event with you, I'll plan better."
It was official, she needed more alcohol for this. She dreded the next gossip post, she never was featured very well in those and everyone probably was well of it.

Drew found the rhythm and began to move the two of them to the music. Strangely enough, he didn't have two left feet. Most days he felt comfortable on the dance floor. He had been an athlete his entire life and he looked at it like just another sport.
"I wonder if Daphne liked me enough yet to book my band for an event," he mused after a moment.

She thought about what he suggested while swaying against him. She could feel his breath on her and it was bringing back lots of feelings. All Mandy wanted to do right now as lay her head on him like they used to when they were together. She smiled, "I'm sure she would if you talked to her about it. She's knows you well enough."

"We'll see. Jemma - you know Jemma, right? - well, she knows a few producers and thinks she can get them to a show."

She put her head back and it was resting near his cheek but she wasn't going to go the last bit to touch if he didn't want to.

"Looks like we'll both be planning parties then," he mused, weaving around one of the tables. "Let me know if you need a keg."
Obviously Drew's first thought was beer. Make sure a party is well stocked with beer.
