Happy Birthday, Rachel! (and some other stuff)

Mar 20, 2007 11:21

I'm a bit late on the uptake here, and I'm seeing the girl (yay) in a couple of hours, but wanted to publically wave my hands and wish our very own abyssinia4077 a happy birthday ( Read more... )

Oh, honey. This all sucks beyond the telling of it. Well, not Rachel's Quarter of a Century, that's pretty dang wonderful in and of itself, of course.

I think I'm going to spend today on a desert island. Sam thinks you should come too *points to icon* because he really, really, really wants to make you feel better.

Desert island sounds great. Maybe we can just kick back in the sun and contemplate the way Sam's shoulders curve into his biceps. It sounds like a much better way to spend the afternoon.

Thank you for the birthday wishes and, of course, the lunch! It was (as always) awesome seeing you.

I'm really sorry about all the crap. That is just not okay in so many different ways and I'm going to stomp my foot and kick the world because it should be a rule that people have to have good days on my birthday. (um, me self-centered much?)

Anyway...*big smooshie hugs* and I'll share that moderated patience with you!

You're very welcome for lunch! I'm glad the timing's working out so well this week.

The crap is crappy, it's true, but it was really nice to just sit and talk about other-than-crap stuff with you today. Helped the state of mind a lot :-)

And yes, I agree. Your birthday should be only good for everyone!

*smushie hugs back*

I'm glad the talking helped.
You know how to find me if you need distracting-type talk or you want to actually talk about serious stuff. Anytime.

Thank you. *hugs back* I'm sure they will. Some days I just have to let the mope toss me around a bit. :-)

I'm so sorry things aren't brilliant right now. Best wishes to your co-worker. Man, that's scary. But when you look at the figure, the numbers of women that get it these days? That's scarier. But thing is, they don't ever seem to mention the number of women who have it, and beat it. I know 4 women who've had it (not directly related or close to me though) and out of all of them, only one didn't get better. I know it's horrible - God, it must be awful - but there's a hell of a good chance she can get better ( ... )

Thanks sweetie. I know that women survive breast cancer a lot more these days, despite the increased numbers. It's just... Ugh. Personal issues for me, as always. Still, my mom had the butcher-jobbest mastectomy 30 years ago, and she's still ticking, so: :-)

I'm sure Johanna will get better--she's back in school this week after two week's vacation, and school stresses her out to the extreme, so I'm sure that's part of it. I just wish there was something I could do to help her, but there's nothing. Bleh.

Anyway, I'm sure all of this will look better tomorrow. I'm going to take a cue from my body and go to bed, since I fell asleep on my couch at 8:30.

No worries about email--you know that. Take care of yourself!

Thanks. Having one of those *hugs* days, I guess :-)

Sleep will surely help.
