I'm a bit late on the uptake here, and I'm seeing the girl (yay) in a couple of hours, but wanted to publically wave my hands and wish our very own abyssinia4077 a happy birthday

I'm so sorry things aren't brilliant right now. Best wishes to your co-worker. Man, that's scary. But when you look at the figure, the numbers of women that get it these days? That's scarier. But thing is, they don't ever seem to mention the number of women who have it, and beat it. I know 4 women who've had it (not directly related or close to me though) and out of all of them, only one didn't get better. I know it's horrible - God, it must be awful - but there's a hell of a good chance she can get better.
As for your niece - I'm so sorry things aren't looking up. Give it a while longer though.
*sigh* It sounds like an entire flat is being massacred somewhere in this building, they're screaming like there's a serial killer in amongst them. Man. Also? Some weird 'schwwooOOOOOOoooom' noise, like a racing car driving past really quickly, is coming from the room beneath me. What the hell?
Oh, and I owe you a response to your last email - sorry, I'll get on it, promise. Things have been a bit hectic today and I've been weirdly, inexplicably tired and had to have a nap earlier because I couldn't actually keep my eyes open to draw. *sleepy* I'm off to bed - hope your day is improving. *big huge hugs* x.
Thanks sweetie. I know that women survive breast cancer a lot more these days, despite the increased numbers. It's just... Ugh. Personal issues for me, as always. Still, my mom had the butcher-jobbest mastectomy 30 years ago, and she's still ticking, so: :-)
I'm sure Johanna will get better--she's back in school this week after two week's vacation, and school stresses her out to the extreme, so I'm sure that's part of it. I just wish there was something I could do to help her, but there's nothing. Bleh.
Anyway, I'm sure all of this will look better tomorrow. I'm going to take a cue from my body and go to bed, since I fell asleep on my couch at 8:30.
No worries about email--you know that. Take care of yourself!
