Really long, sporadically interesting

This no-LJ stuff sucks when I actually have to be at my desk all day long. Havoc is being wreaked without me, I can feel it! I hear rumors of brilliant fannish rambles and people who may need bitch-slapping, and yet I can see none of it! Thank goodness for liptorm, who planted all sorts of cracky ideas in my head and encouraged the care and keeping of ( Read more... )

That, is a magnificent post. Makes getting bitch-slapped worth it.

OMG *flails* James McAvoy Anne Hathaway Mr. MacFadyen AND DAME Maggie Smith? In an AUsten biopic? *is excited*

Thank you for the OC summary, I can see that poor Ryan needs rescuing. *snuggles*

Hey. Don't judge me. You're the ones giggling over Moaning Myrtle the On-screen Molester.... /wink

Oh, it wasn't you I was considering bitch-slapping my friend. Let's just said I was made aware of someone else's need to be bitch-slapped. /cryptic to everyone but us

Um... Wait, no, MacF and James McAvoy in one, then McA and Anne H and Dame Maggie in another. But Mr. Miller-Tumnus is the link between them.

Ryan needs to either a) let everyone move away for college and stay in the poolhouse or b) run away from the growing freakshow. More details can be provided upon request.

I don't judge you. And for the record, we weren't giggling; we were made increasingly uncomfortable by Moaning Myrtle the Molester.

Wait, Atonement like the McEwan novel? I am so seeing that.

Yes, yes, that's it! I haven't read the novel, but I remember seeing the name and "adapted from the novel by" and then speculation on whom Judi Dench might play.

Apparently I need to read this book?

I'm always wary of recommending it, because it seems like everyone who reads it either loves it or hates it--so recs are a crapshoot. But yeah, I really liked it, and it'd be worth looking into.

I'll give it a go. Promise not to hold a grudge if I fall into the "hate it" group.

I'll admit that I've only ever seen the beginning of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Enough to get the "Bueller? Bueller?" joke, I think. :)

The Vortex is life. What would we do without it?!

You are but young, and therefore it is understandable that you might not have seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off (though you really should rent it and go all the way through it; it is brilliant). My sister practically graduated with Ferris and has no such excuse :-)

Life without the Vortex would be too sad to contemplate.
