Really long, sporadically interesting

This no-LJ stuff sucks when I actually have to be at my desk all day long. Havoc is being wreaked without me, I can feel it! I hear rumors of brilliant fannish rambles and people who may need bitch-slapping, and yet I can see none of it! Yes, yes, that's it! I haven't read the novel, but I remember seeing the name and "adapted from the novel by" and then speculation on whom Judi Dench might play.

Apparently I need to read this book?

I'm always wary of recommending it, because it seems like everyone who reads it either loves it or hates it--so recs are a crapshoot. But yeah, I really liked it, and it'd be worth looking into.

Finished it last night. I definitely fall in the Like It camp. Thanks for the rec! Am now very excited to see Mr. Tumnus, Paratrooper as Robbie.
