Shouldn’t Have
She wakes up on the way; shouldn’t have, but then again, Juliet ends up doing a lot of things she shouldn’t.
She sees wide eyes -- dark eyes -- and for some reason, they feel right. She blinks, doesn't notice the tears until they’re gathering at her chin; he stands and strides across the space -- her eyes aren’t focused, she can’t measure the distance -- sits beside her. She leans into him; he gives, as if he expected to all along. He’s not warm enough; she doesn’t mind.
When she tilts her head up, stares, presses her mouth to his -- it’s no surprise.
