First entry--Say Amen recap, Part 1

Hello there future self scanning old entries and friends who have been kind enough to add me. I've decided my first entry will be an episode recap. Why not, eh? So I'll start with an episode of due South that for some reason I've seen over 5 billion times

oh I love the parallels in this episode. I think they pitched it just right to give us insight to Ray and Fraser without beating us over the head with "LOOK! THIS CHARACTER IS JUST LIKE THE MAIN CHARACTER!" that sometimes happens on TV. And obviously I choose to see this as a beautifully subtext-y shipping parallel because Davy and Eloise love each other despite their different backgrounds, and Fraser gazes at Ray SO OBVIOUSLY when pressed on the love at first sight thing, and I know it doesn't matter but I really wonder if they did this on purpose because it seems to leap off the screen to me. How could you film this and not know you were at least implying that Ray and Fraser love each other in the same way as Davy and Eloise?

I love the idea he was distracted from the film because he was sitting next to Ray, btw - I can just imagine him there in the dark cinema, taking advantage of Ray being engrossed in the film to gaze at him without getting caught and wishing he could hold his hand or go and make out in the back row.

Yes! Exactly. I mean it was more obvious with Fraser but I really didn't think much about Davie & Ray until I wrote this out. Well except for the slight stalking part.
