I missed the first 2 sets, couldn't believe it when I saw the score! I gathered from the commentary he seemed a bit indifferent, idiot. This is the best chance he'll have to win, granted theres pressure but he should be able to deal with it.
i didn't get why many thought it's a classic. this was unnecessary five setters for roger. I minght be in the minority, but i don't think it was an entertaining match. granted it was prolly because both players had good service games (at least before haas spectacularly cumbled) but still.
meh.
maybe i'm just being too demanding/critical. maybe i should just be happy and enjoy the fact that roger is through :p.
hope he'll do better in the next round though - i'm not sure he'll be as lucky if he plays like today against better opponent than haas.
Nothing wrong with being critical, I'm happy he's through too but I'm still unhappy with how he's played and responded to some of the challenges Haas gave him.
If he's lucky he'll be playing Roddick in the quarters which, unless Andy has an unbelievable day and Roger has an exceptionally poor one, he'll win. Not saying Andy can't challenge Roger, but on clay? I don't think it'll happen. However if he has Monfils it'll be tougher. They had a good match last year in the semis and if he's not playing well and loses his head he could be in trouble.
It was not a good match by Roger. I was screaming at my tv during the first two sets because he just seemed so distant, like his mind was some where else.
I am not sure what was going on with him today. Just relieved he had enough luck and like you said, woke up at the right time in the match. He has to up his game; he can't win RG playing like this.
i thought i was the only one that's not being squeeful and giggly about roger's win! lol. i'm happy, but yeah, everything that you said there was pretty much what i thought/feel too.
maybe he was actually feeling more pressure -because- rafa lost. i dunno, roger looked kind of tight/not relaxed in that match, until when he won the third set.
aw well.
fabrice afterwards made me kind of teary-eyed. gonna miss him and his magic.
The commentators were going on about the Nadal-Djokovic effect: how the top seeds are feeling some wind of weirdness in the dressing room. Lol.
Aw, I don't know french but he seems like a cool guy. I remember his match with Roger last year. They seemed to have a lot of fun playing against each other.
I want someone to make an icon of him putting his shirt on. Is it sad that I kept rewatching that little clip over and over again? I thought he was going to lose, so I figured I should at least get to stare at his bare chest. /fangirl.
