Unrelated to anything, if you go to this article on the Miss Universe pageant, you can see the pictures of the runner-ups. The winner was Miss Puerto Rico (who passed out 40 minutes into her reign) but Miss USA made it to the top

i totally didn't notice that before, but yeah, they do look like they are on stands. can we hope that it's a subtle comment on the objectification of women that this pagaent represents?
