ONE ♐ ( video )

[ The video is quick to show an adult man, dressed in something vaguely resembling a red mantle and dark armor, who looks like he's in his late twenties to early thirties at most despite the white hair; he gives the camera a frown at first, one bordering on a full-scale scowl. ]

Oh, this actually works. Hmm. You know, when I found myself in some ( Read more... )

And for once, she catches him looking completley shocked. Not something you see often. ]

[ ...So, he will eventually reveal himself to her. Probably when trying to kill him. Should he be surprised? No, that in itself is not surprising. He figured it would make sense that she would eventually find out his reasons. But... ]

[ If she's from when the war is over--

If he is still here and still exists--

Then it's obvious, isn't it? What the outcome was. ]

...I see. You know, huh...? If you know who I am, Saber... you must know everything else, among with it. [ A pause. ] So. I lost, didn't I?

You challenged Shirou, but you lost the battle of wills. He did not wound you enough to kill you, but I believe you had come to respect his resolve, and perhaps that he would not become as you are. He has Rin, and so he has someone to keep him from that path.

Moreover, you protected him from the Archer of the previous War once your battle was concluded. I do not know what became of you after that, I'm afraid.

[Mostly because she was too busy RAEGING at the Golden Jerkass after that]

[ Archer is surprisingly quiet in response to all that. It's... a lot to take in, to say the least. ]

...

So that's how it is, huh. I can't say this isn't all incredibly strange to me, but you're not lying. So that means that I'll be okay with this outcome eventually, once it happens.

There was much we all had to overcome. The Holy Grail itself was not what I thought it was. Nothing as tainted as that could grant any wish of mine.

[No one gets what they wanted]

[ He knew it all this time-- the true nature of the Holy Grail. So it does not surprise him, what she says. ] So you have learned, Saber? Have you let go of that foolish wish?

[It's that frown, you know it well]

It is not foolish.

[And with that, her face resumes normal lack of expression]

But I have given it up, yes.

[ Yep. And in response, he gives her that smirk. ]

You really are stubborn. As stubborn and idealistic as he is. Like Master, like Servant, huh?

[Like déjà vu. And have another not-quite glare back]

I cannot simply cast aside my duties.

[And back to poker face again]

It is among my Masters' better qualities, at least when we shared goals.

Better qualities? I'd say worse. But it's not like that kid even has good qualities anyway. [ Wow Archer, so mean to yourself... ] ...Hm? "Shared"? Did that change too?

That is not surprising.

Only when the War began. Once we learned that the Grail had become tainted, we were all in agreement that it must be destroyed. By that time, Rin had become my Master, and so it was not quite as difficult to destroy it as it would have been.
