It is not just you. I hate it so fucking much too. There's a woman who works in the bio lab with me and she's quite smart except for that reduculous pink thing in her ear. And she even told me she doesn't get service in the building. SO WHY WEAR THAT STUPID THING?! ARGH! HULK SMASH!

I don't hate them with quite your vehement passion, but I am tempted to stop people wearing them and say something:

"Ecxuse me, sir. Do you think that thing in your ear is cool? It's really not and I think you should know that."

But while we're venting (or while there's venting going on), I really hate people who drive with their fog lights on on normal days. IT'S NOT FOGGY AND YOU'RE A F*&%ING MORON.

No -- it is not just YOU. People with those things drive me CRAZY. I always think they are talking to themselves, usually very LOUDLY, until I see the piece jammed up in their ear. And let's face it, they kind of look ridiculous. I refuse to get one, if for no other reason then it's a fashion faux pas.

oh my, I am so not with you on this one. I don't personally wear mine a lot, but the convenience of bluetooth (which has expanded far beyond just headset capabilities) is awesome. when you're driving/moving things/typing, which I do a lot at work while trying to talk to companies like cingular, sprint, sirius, monster cable, etc, my bluetooth headset is like my best friend. don't forget, cell phones do expand past blonde teenagers who can't chew gum and walk at the same time. :)

oh, and I forgot to mention how once you start using the headset on a regular basis it's almost uncomfortable to hold your phone to your ear. I do think that us bluetooth folk look ridiculious talking to ourselves tho.

I also see a lot of people come into my store and buy bluetooth just because they can...it shows that they have a newer phone and the extra 40 bucks to throw around on plastic. I luckily got a reeeeally nice discount :)

I don't know that I'm pissed about it but I am surely irritated - mainly because it puts people in a position to be even more rude and inconsiderate than the public already is! I agree while at certain jobs it's necessary and exceedingly efficient but if you deal with the public or you are out in public its very difficult for you to engage appropriately with customers, or with a salesperson or with others in line, etc...if your jammering away and what about the fact that none of us really want to know your business?? It makes it even more inviting for anyone around to listen in on your convo if you aren't even holding up a phone that gives a clue that your having a conversation with someone else. I love what the technology has done to help us stay connected but I hate what it's done to manners and consideration. And I feel bad for salespeople, cashiers and waitstaff folks for all the times that are simply ignored and discounted because the person they are trying to assist is on a phone taht is stuck in thier ear!
