I discussed in the FroP Forum in the Thread about my Trailer with some people...
and we're throwing around with arguments, and hints which make them gay, and then again not....

this comment made me think ._. >clic<

In the end, I don't believe anyone should feel bad about something that they like, just because others might disagree. After all, in the end we all have our own opinion/thoughts on the matter, and...it's just not fair to put others down just because of a disagreeing point of view.

Should you feel bad or stupid? No.

I really wish people could just accept the fact that everyone views things differently.

Sort of like a "Respect me for what I believe, I'll respect you for what you believe" thing.

Besides.

If we wish to claim that Hikaru is totally off boffing his brother, then fine.

If it turns out that Hikaru and/or Kaoru are both totally playing for the straight team, then fine...that doesn't mean that us, the fans aren't still entitled to believe what it is we want.

That's why it's considered a fandom after all.

Fandom =/= canon.

No I do NOT believe it is cruel to make them gay!!! It's just a fantasy and there is NOTHING wrong with that! And as cruel of me as it is to point out the harsh truth that they are... dare I say it? Fictional, therefore made for YOUR enjoyment! There is nothing wrong with tweaking they're character to your liking!!

I think you shouldn't feel bad about liking something, even if other people say bad things about it. If you like this pairing and you don't feel twincest in this case is wrong, you should have nothing to defend. Most pairings in anime -aren't- canon, they are made up by the fans, and I don't feel you should feel more ashamed for the pairing you like just because they're both boys, and brothers. We're not 'forcing them to be gay' when we write about them, just like people aren't -forcing- Tamaki to be straight when they write TamakixHaruhi. If you see them as gay with each other, that's your view, and likewise if others just believe they're pretending, that's their view. You're probably not going to change each other's mind, but NO ONE should make you feel guilty or wrong for liking what you like.

Keep doing what you're doing, and don't let people push you around! It's your pairing as well as a lot of this community's, and we can all do what we like with it!

Also, I would like to add to this business of 'you're making them gay' because frankly, I'm getting more and more pissed off at this perception of fangirls. I know a lot of people who get pissed off at fangirls for 'making characters gay' in fanfiction/art, and that's their preference, if they don't want to see it, we certainly don't force them and most of us understand that people sometimes dislike seeing certain characters in that situation. But saying something like 'how dare you make them gay!' is just ridiculous ( ... )

I honestly don't think that by shipping Hikaru/Kaoru we're automatically bad people. It's not like you're taking two real boys, sticking them in a room, and threatening to kill them if they don't act out incestuous acts or whatever. It's a fandom, and if it really bothers anyone, we can always point to that little disclaimer at the top of every fanfic, fanart, and fan video ever made.
