and we're throwing around with arguments, and hints which make them gay, and then again not....

Also, I would like to add to this business of 'you're making them gay' because frankly, I'm getting more and more pissed off at this perception of fangirls. I know a lot of people who get pissed off at fangirls for 'making characters gay' in fanfiction/art, and that's their preference, if they don't want to see it, we certainly don't force them and most of us understand that people sometimes dislike seeing certain characters in that situation. But saying something like 'how dare you make them gay!' is just ridiculous.

Even if the characters you're slashing are both totally in love with girls, even if they talk about sex with them, even if they LOVE BOOBIES like nothing else, does that mean they're entirely straight? I'm sure we can all agree appearences can be misleading. A completely gay man could have a wife and kids, and a prefectly healthy sex life, though he might not enjoy it. I'm really sick of people figuring that, in canon, EVERY character in existence is straight, unless otherwise specified. When people write straight/het fics, hardly anyone gets up in arms about the mis-characterization of them as 'straight'. Why is it that writing a yaoi fic is automatically bad because they're both males? EVERYTHING written for Ouran is fanon! Regardless of what genitals the characters have, we all have different perceptions of who might be with whom! Unless it's stated in the show, everything us fans create are our views, and there's nothing wrong with having different ones!

Some people may believe the twins are entirely straight, it's when they pass off their opinion as truth that there are problems. Not every character is automatically straight, not every character is automatically gay, it's up to each fan to decide what they believe.
