Lynn didn't flinch as the bell in the doorway jingled and a couple walked out of the store, happily carrying their new broomsticks in their arms. She stared nonchalantly at the broomsticks hanging on the walls, the Quidditch supplies stacked underneath. Before any memories of Quidditch or her father or any thoughts at all could come to her, she pulled her gaze away and turned, instead, to the watch on her wrist.
"Lunch time already?" she mumbled to herself as the hands of the watch got closer and closer to noon. She thought for a moment about what to do. She could either go out to one of the cafes or a restaurant and risk having to talk to someone or she could not eat at all, as she had forgotten to grab something to eat before she left this morning. She could also go back to her apartment nearby but that was too risky, as she would still have to walk and possibly see someone she had met before.
Deciding without a second thought that she would be fine with missing a meal, she took a seat on the stool behind the counter. She planned on resting until she heard the jingling again.
