Riane paced silently along the outer edge of the forest with her wand hanging loosely in her right hand. It was still quite a bit damp out from the random drizzling throughout the day, and she wasn't sure if it was done for the evening or would pick up again any minute. Her usual navy robes had been exchanged for a set in charcoal gray and of a thicker fabric. The evenings were started to be a bit chilly, and patrols outside were much more pleasant when would could be comfortable.
It was quiet out. Almost all of the students had returned to the warmth and comfort of the castles inner walls for the remainder of the evening, and she liked it that way. The peacefulness meant she could use the time to clear her head. Still, being this close to the edge of the forest, she had to be alert. One never knew what they'd come across in the darkness, after all.
