Abel had required his sixth year class to receive at least an ‘E’ in their O.W.L.s to continue on with his class so luckily, the marks on his surprise test was significantly better - although there were still a number of disappointing grades. “Test papers on the desk, pick them up and sit down quietly.” He said to the first few started to trickle in. He had given them all a free study period in their third week of class so he expected them to be well rested and ready for this one.

Cyrus looked about the class, he smiled to himself, for once he was the first one to class. As instructed he picked up his test, he looked it over as he walked over to a desk. The mark was his normal average, a mark that made him happy. He dropped his books on his desk and slid into his chair, silence was deafening. He decided it best to occupy himself with reading what he wrote on his test.

Zoe slipped into the DADA classroom a few minutes late. She breathed a sigh of relief as she realised she wasn't the last one and picked her test paper off the desk as instructed. She glanced at her score but didn't react, making sure to avoid any eye contact with Hot Professor. A fail, big surprise, she thought.

"How'd you go?" she whispered as she took her usual seat next to Cyrus. She knew the answer before he said it but it was always courteous to ask.

Cyrus looked up breifly from his paper to see Zoe snatching hers from the desk, not smile or look a reflief, can't be good. When she sat down beside him he placed the paper on the desk, happy for some company. "As well as expected, yourself?" He whispered back.

If she needed help he hoped that she still knew that he would be more than willing to do so, he glanced at the porfessor, class would be starting up soon enough.

SEVENTH YEARS your_dada_prof April 29 2006, 22:39:37 UTC
Finally, his N.E.W.T.s class of seventh year students, there were a surprising large number of them. He hadn’t expected that many of them to make it into their seventh year. Not that he purposely made their curriculum hard or anything. On the board, were written instructions for them to pick up their papers and sit back down quietly in their seats. It was about time that this class became a little bit more ‘serious.’

Having already had Charms, Grady was very awake when he entered the classroom (something that was most unusual). Not to mention Defense was his favorite, and best, subject. With his backpack slung over his shoulder, Grady retrieved his test. While he hadn't attended the class, he had taken the test under the supervision of a professor in the Hospital Wing. He was still hesitant about what Faust would say about his absence. Before taking a seat, he approached the Professor and said simply, "I've been in the Hospital Wing for the past two weeks." Grady looked over his shoulder, as if some vicious Slytherins were going to sneak up behind him. Luckily none where there. "They wouldn't let me leave any earlier ( ... )

Abel gave Grady an affirmative nod. “Madam Pomfrey had informed me about it, ...before she was replaced by the new nurse.” He hadn’t bothered to greet the new nurse yet, there were too many adults entering and leaving the castle these days for him to keep track of, being the social recluse that he was. “That is fine. You were lucky, last week was the test which you obviously completed and the week before was a study break.”

Perhaps the extra study time given during their third week wasn’t sure a bad thing seeing as how so many of his sixth and seventh years liked to be absent. “I trust you are fine now? From whatever,” He flicked his eyes over the boy, “happened to cause you your absence.”

[ooc; Hospital Wing is fine! ;) ]

He breathed a sigh of relief when Faust nodded at him. Grady had been fearing detention, even extra work. But no! None of the above. Nodding his head quickly, he fumbled with the paper in his hand. "Oh, yes sir. I am quite well." That was another thing that had worried him. He didn't look ill at all. Every bit of the swelling had gone down, and he looked rather healthy again. More weight lifted off his shoulders as he realized Madam Pomfrey had not disclosed the reason of his absence. Shame that women was replaced (his head was teaming with thought of what happened. Madam Pomfrey was threatened by a death eater or two to leave, so Voldemort could have a grip on the school. He suppose that was he was taking Defense after all, to be ready for that sort of thing).

Where was the rest of his classmates? Not that he was complaining; Iago and Wes were bound to show eventually. Grady wasn't even sure what they took this class for anyway. Weren't they the "Dark Arts" he was learning to defend himself against?
