Dari felt like she hadn't seen Jeremy in ages and she hated it. They were both busy, she figured, but he'd actually been going to classes and that was really odd. If she didn't know better, she'd think he just didn't want to be around her, but that was just silly, wasn't it? They were best friends and they'd worked things out and they were perfectly fine now, right?

Nevertheless, she couldn't help chewing her lip nervously as she turned the last corner into the corridor leading to the Great Hall and saw him coming towards the same spot from the opposite direction.

'Jer!" she called, giving him a little wave and walking a little bit faster. She bit her lip a little more, then, though, because what if he was busy or had plans or gave some other excuse to not spend any time with her? Again? She wasn't sure she could take much more of him being too busy for her.

Maybe it was time for Jeremy to buckle down. Maybe he'd found a reason to suddenly be interested in class. Besides, it wasn't like he always skipped every class. Obviously, he had to go to some classes... otherwise, his life would be lived in detention. However, yes, it was odd for Jeremy to be as dedicated as he had this week ( ... )

Dari knew Jeremy's habits better than her own. She knew, also, when those habits changed the way his had recently.

"You've been busy," she commented he mentioned having not seen her in awhile. Dari cringed inwardly, because that had sounded pretty bitter, even to her. She wasn't looking for a fight and she hadn't planned to let him know she was upset at having not seen him much, but she couldn't quite help it. Jeremy was supposed to be her best friend and he hadn't even really been around lately.

Dari was busy herself, of course, but she'd been trying. She'd gone looking for him only to find him on his way to class or off to do something else that wasn't spending time with her. Probably making out with that Adriana some more, too, but Dari didn't like to think about that.

Dari did sound bitter.

He knew that she wasn't happy with his newest development of constantly having things to do. However, he hadn't been lying to her... he was going to class and doing everything else that he'd told her he had to do this week. Sure, it was odd for him to actually put forth effort when it came to certain subjects and, honestly, he had no explanation of why he suddenly cared. Not one that Dari would hear, anyway.

His smile faded at her words. Not completely, mind you but just enough.

"I have been," he agreed. "Haven't you been busy as well?"

Jeremy was her best friend... even if he was busy. In his eyes, he didn't have to drop any and everything to keep that best friend status.

Also, as a side note, Jeremy had not snogged Adriana. Sure, there had been that one drunken snog in the middle of the night after Dari had completely freaked and ran out on him... but he actually regretted that... and he certainly hadn't repeated the mistake.
