As if sensing the thoughts of Troy Frogley, Lolita bit back an exasperated groan and tried not to roll her eyes or throw an insult at him--just in case he thought their bet was still going on. Promising not to insult people was turning harder to keep up than she'd thought.

Lolita examined the handle of her broom for splintery bits sticking out. More than once she'd grabbed ahold and been surprised when her hand came away full of bits of wood. It wasn't a nice precursor to a game...one tended to be quite down after that. Splinters were pure evil, probably more evil than Wesley Broderick, Lolita thought with a mild smile.

"Who said I praise myself?" Lolita asked innocently, looking at Troy with false confusion. "You must've heard it from some jealous floozy."

Dari couldn't hear the other two from her spot on the other side of the pitch and she really was having a bit too much fun with the flying to pay them much mind. She wasn't TRYING to be rude. She'd just came out to fly and it really didn't matter if she was joined by anyone else or not.

She continued to fly loops around the posts, tossing the quaffle occasionally and rushing to catch it. There was nothing she loved quite so well as flying and up here in the air? Nothing else mattered.

"Look," Troy said sternly, one of the few times anyone would hear him not say anything in a goofy tone of voice. And if it was Lolita, SO be it. "I'm not puppy-dog facing it up here, I just see you looking like you're going to kill someone, Lolita, and. . ."

It hit him. He lowered his tone of voice, "Is this about Dari?" He carefully looked over his shoulder at her. . .still flying by herself. That HAD to be it. He had no idea they had such a rivalry or fight thing going on, but Lolita wasn't exactly vague about it. And she wasn't acting effortlessly cool and unswayed about it, at least to Troy ( ... )

Momentarily stunned by Troy's sudden earnestness, Lolita paused and blinked at him. He was surprising her more and more often these days, which probably wasn't a bad thing, given that it meant he was becoming less...well, lame.

"Your concern is touching, really," she said flatly, meaning it but not willing to let it show. "And don't be so worried--if I kill someone, it en't going to be you."

It was most definitely not a rivalry beween Lolita and Dariana, just a clashing of personalities and ideals. If Lolita knew Troy was wondering if it was a rivalry, she would've stabbed herself through with a quill...in a hyperbolic sense, of course ( ... )

If Dari could hear their little exchange, she'd probably laugh herself sick. Yes, she would have been highly amused to think anyone was getting so worked up over her.

As it was, though, she couldn't hear from this distance and she didn't want to intrude on whatever it was that was going on, so she just kept up what she was doing, flying around the hoops, playing with the Quaffle, enjoying the good flying weather.

Was it too much to hope this weather would hold?

Dari didn't seem to get worked up over anything, really. Nobody could be that unphased by everything. Well, it was true, at least to him. Troy had never really seen it until now. Maybe he became less of his "NEED SNOGS NOW" type of guy when he was around Lolita, someone he genuinely had an interest in. Weird thought, even to Troy. Maybe he wasn't such a goofball after all. But what he said was true. The Dari he saw usually was. . .easy. And that was about it. He realized maybe he shouldn't always try to get snogs or more than that even, especially since the Hanna Kensington fiasco.

Yeah. . .didn't want to remember that.

Maybe there was more than just snogging birds like Dari all the time. After all. . .she wasn't worth it, he was starting to see. After all, her weird "friendship" with that bloke Jeremy?

Not on. It was just odd. Even Troy didn't have that kind of "friendship" with people.

Besides, she was still hanging around herself. Even Lolita wasn't that unsocial ( ... )
