Today, you will be de-gnoming the garden just beyond the southern pen. Refer to your text, each other, or (lastly) myself if you need assistance on how to de-gnome. Once the garden is free of gnomes, see me before you leave.
Re: Years Two & Three: CombinedcamdynbakerAugust 15 2006, 04:18:19 UTC
Camdyn Baker was very much ready for another Care of Magical Creatures class. She'd let her hair fall into bouncy, brunette curls as she ran toward the pens, flailing her arms in greeting to Professor Kilpatrick. Any class that was outdoors was far better than anything the inside had to offer. Her only complaint was the cold, as Camdyn and cold did not mix. She'd pulled her cloak tight, Slytherin scarf wound around her neck multiple times, and sniffled as it started to catch up with her.
"Gnomes! Ophelia shall love this lesson," Camdyn said with a grin, knowing too well that her older friend was the violent sort.
She headed for the south pen, clapping her hands with excitement. This would be very worth her time, indeed.
Re: Years Two & Three: Combinedmason_gAugust 19 2006, 02:54:48 UTC
Mason scofted when he realized that he was being forced to not only work with the Snakes, but with the seconds too. To top it all off, he was horrid at Care of Magical creature.
None the less, he would try, and he would make Professor Kilpatrick proud. He rounded out behind the younger Slytherin, not saying anything.
In Pen Number Six, there is a salamander fire. Keep it burning and observe the salamanders. There should be a few caged outside of the fire. Refer to your text on how to keep them alive. An essay on your observations will be due next week.

BOUNCE BOUNCE! That was how Sascha Kuen felt. She just wanted to....BOUNCE! She loved Care of Magical Creatures so very much, not to mention Professor Kilpatrick was her absolute FAVORITE teacher. EVER.
She bounced on down to Pen Number Six and sat her things down, waving at the professor. "HALLO PROFESSOR!"
In Pen Number Five, you will find the Fire Crabs. Using your textbook and your observations, write an essay on Fire Crabs, to be turned in at the beginning of class next week. We will be doing more extensive and hands-on work with them then, so pay close attention!
Re: Year Five: S/G Classavis_abernathyAugust 14 2006, 20:13:33 UTC
Avis peered into the animal pens, still groggy, as usual in the mornings. Three cups of tea didn't help much. However, Professor Kilpatrick was one of her favorite teachers, so that had to count for something.
If that something was not falling asleep during class, then there you go.
She held her book under one arm and frowned at the Fire Crabs, then at the board. So Killy wouldn't be joining them today? "Well, at least it's not something that'll get me allergic," she yawned to herself, nobody being around yet. Why was Avis always the first to class? Perhaps she wasn't as irresponsible as she thought. She'd have to walk into charms class an hour late to make up for this. Her eyes drooped and she waited for her classmates, blankly glaring at the pen.

Fire Crabs.
Interesting.
Phoebe was not good at Care of Magical Creatures. She tried, sure, but it wasn't that helpful. Nodding a quiet greeting to Professor Kilpatrick, she sat down by the pen and started taking notes. They were... er... crabby looking. Right. She squinted at them as if it would make them be more informative. They seemed to be just... sitting there.
Using your text, select a particularly dangerous, rare or interesting creature. Research your chosen animal using all the resources at your disposal (your text, the library, each other, myself, etc.) and write an essay, due at the beginning of next week's class. You will be expected to briefly tell the class about your findings next week.

Julian dashed over to where he usually found his class congregated, looking around for his fellow students, but found none. Well, he did not fret. He instead quickly took his seat by the board, getting out his paper and quill, and nearly his books, when he realized he didn't need them. He was going to do the Erumpent, and he was pretty sure he knew that animal inside and out. In fact, he was certain.
Julian started scribbling down the proper information, grinning from ear to ear as facts just popped into his head. It was so nice to have his memory actually work for once. Especially since this was one of his favorite subjects, and Professor Kilpatrick was his favorite professor. Speaking of which...where was she?
Looking up, he leaned this way and that in an attempt to spot her, but to no avial, the board had all but completely blocked his view. "Professor?" he called hopefully wondering where exactly she was at. Probably tending to the aniamls. How admirable.

You will be expected to teach the rest of the class about your chosen creature next week, so be certain to make yourself an expert. Your presentation will be graded.

Oh, great. Cassidy was decent at Care of Magical Creatures - but only decent, mind you. She sighed as she saw the board.
"Hi, Professor Kilpatrick," she said, and smiled slightly, then sitting down to open her book. Thinking about it, she only had to decide for a moment before she picked the clabbart. After the week before's interesting day with one in particular, she felt like she knew everything about the things. Waiting for someone else to come, Cassidy opened her book to take notes. Fun.

"Hello Professor!" Sean shouted as he bounded (some might say galloped; it was, after all, time for Care of Magical Creatures) up to the animal pens. "An' hello Cassidy!"
He was very excited to play with animals!
Except then he saw the board and his face fell. This was not playing with animals at all! This was writing. Which he was bad at. And presenting, which he was also bad at. Woe.
"Um." He fiddled about, playing with his textbook. With a sigh, he sat down beside Cassidy and opened up his book. He and Cassidy usually helped each other with Care of Magical Creaturs anyway (or, rather, she helped him and he cooed over the animals). "What did ye pick?" he asked her, looking distressed.
Re: Year Seven: R/H Classcassidy_fAugust 26 2006, 02:53:34 UTC
Cassidy nearly jumped out of her skin in shock as Sean seemed to appear out of bloody nowhere. She put down her notes, figuring she wouldn't get much done with Sean Brightwell around.
Not that that was an insult or anything. Really, it wasn't. Sean was just easily distracted, and Cassidy was just easily distracted by easily distracted people. If that made any sense at all.
She sat cross-legged and looked over at him, gesturing towards her notebook. "Clabbarts. I spent a whole day with them the other week and so I know much more than I'd like to about them."
