It had been pulling at her insides for almost a week, ever since she read the final words in The Daily Prophet and constant chatter of the rumours since the event. Niki's death -- her murder. Of course there was an auror as well, and any act like this disturbed her, but for Niki, it was personal. She knew her, she was a friend! And now she's gone.
Lexi had finally caved in after lunch, some of the Gryffindors were chatting about how glad they were that it was a Slytherin that was killed; better them than anyone else. Tears forming in her eyes, Lexi shot out of the great hall and back to the common room. It was still mostly deserted at this time, lucky enough for her. Sitting down by the window sill adjacent the stone fireplace, Lexi tucked her knees up against her and silently began to cry, her head nuzzled into her lap. It was about time she let it out, it's better to, anyway you can.
