Week Name/Date/Time: 'The Minister is Elected'/ Wednesday November 9 / 3:30 PM
Location: Library
Open to: Anyone (Humour me.)
Currently Involving: Avis

The thunderstorms and bad weather rattled the windows of the library. Avis got so bored on Wednesdays, not having classes, trying to avoid study hall if she could. There were only so many hours she could spend in her bed, sleeping. After falling asleep on a chocolate frog, she vowed to get up and walk around a bit. After her hip began to hurt a bit, she decided to take to the library and catch up on a bit of reading.

A bit of reading being The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway for the. . .sixteenth time, perhaps.

She hunched over her frayed and worn copy, the pages with their familiar feel, the words practically memorized by heart. Her mother had always said reading a book about a bunch of disillusioned intellectuals feeling as if they had no meaning in their lives over and over again like she did would make her take on that philosophy.

At this point, however, she did feel a bit disillusioned by events and things in her life. Of course, there were the events of the previous week in the castle, and now there was an odd field trip she had been invited to, and most of all. . .

Avis didn't want to think about it. It was a mistake to even do and now she was paying the price. She would have to lay low for a while, go on a bit of an "Elecott Hiatus," as she called it.

"I can’t stand it to think my life is going so fast and I’m not really living it," Avis read in the book. She couldn't help but feel the same. Though whenever she did try to live life, she ended ruining things. Or making a buffoon of herself.

Oi, Avis! Don't be so emotional!, she thought to herself. Live like Hemingway, not caring and being all aloof and disconnected.

She remembered what her mother had said to her countless times before: "Avis, don't act apathetic and distant. You know what happened to Hemingway."

She yawned and ran her hands through her hair, trying to concentrate on the book, her favorite book of all.
