Alannah strolled into the library and looked around. Quite crowed today she thought as she made her way to a comfy leather chair and plopped down. Al rubbed her eyes and yawned lethargically.

She pulled out a copy of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Opening to the part where she had left off earlier. Quite a while passed as she began to doze off to her dream land. About 30 minutes had passed when she woke suddenly at the sound of her book falling off her lap and crashing to the floor. Al picked it up half asleep and noticed a girl reading The Sun Also Rises. One of Alannah's favorites.

"That's a great book your reading right there." Al announced, not realizing that she had interrupted the girl from her reading.

AH thunderstorms, how lovely they were. In everything but the fact that they TRAPPED PEOPLE INSIDE LIKE SO MANY KIPPERS IN SO MANY LITTLE TINS.

THAT she DIDN'T appreciate. THAT was what had led her to (horror of all horrifying horrors) the library. Perhaps to snatch a few peeks at the Restricted Section, of which she'd heard so much about. Well, a few things about. Notably, that is was restricted, and really, that was enough for her.

Of course, she never expected to see actual live PEOPLE (who weren't Birds) lolling around between the door and her way to Restrictedness. This could turn out to be irritating, but nooo, they seemed a nicely sort. OH cackle she would... cackle.

"IS it now?" she pounced on the second girl's last words and peered at the book the first girl was reading, "Looks a right bore to me." She crossed her arms and looked at them expectantly, then got tired of waiting and slid herself down into a seat.

Avis looked up, wondering if someone was talking to her. When she saw Alannah commenting on her book, she smiled. She'd never really spoken to the fifth year Ravenclaw, but had known who she was. Sometimes being seen in actual society helps, Avis, she thought to herself.

"Yeah?" she asked inquisitively and held it up to see the cover with the bullfighter. "It's one of my favorites." When she saw the book Alannah was reading, she smiled even brighter. "Oi, I remember that story! When i was a kid that was my favorite movie, you know the Disney one? I always wanted to be Captain Nemo. . ."

You're talking about a muggle movie to a magic person, she thought to herself, and blushed a bit ( ... )

Al grinned, she remembered that movie. After all, it was one of her favorites. "That was one of my favorite movies too! I remember I used to watch it over and over again. I'm guessing your muggleborn too?"

Alannah looked over at the Slytherin girl, she had never seen her before. A bit of a bore? Well for simple minded Slytherin's like yourself, yes, perhaps it would be a bore. I swear Slytherins are the thickest, shallowest bunch of people I've ever seen. Al sighed to herself. Alannah smiled to the Slytherin girl and directed her attention back to Avis see put out her hand, expecting her to shake it. "I'm Alannah-or Al, just my nickname." She laughed to herself.
