Dustin Alden was one very lonely Hufflepuff. Sadly, Dustin considered Erik his best mate, and Erik considered Juhi and Phil his best mates, which meant Dustin was no one's best mate. And that was very troubling, indeed. He'd tried to speak with the Hufflepuffs, but they were always too friendly and moved in packs and he wasn't very comfortable with excessive amounts of insanity. One person extremely mental? Somehow that was okay. Two people only half of that amount? Frightening.
He'd been working himself to death trying to get the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team into some sort of order, and yet they'd all been busy or in detention or WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE. How could he be dedicated if he couldn't even find more time for team practices? Puzzling, and heartbreaking, and all together no good.
So when most people had finished consuming their lunches and had headed off to leave Dustin out of the inner circle, he sat alone at the Hufflepuff Table, knocking down a perfectly good scone pyramid. He'd made at least thirty scone pyramids during the course of the meal, and yet none of them he wanted to last. He needed inspiration. New ideas for his massive assortment of scones. He'd gathered far too many to do anything with them all on his own.
For once, Dustin was bloody annoyed, and no one was around to see it. He thought.
