It was a little tough to arrive on a form for you, but in the end, I think an Orangutan would be a good choice.
1. They are solitary animals, which is something that you said is more in common with your personality. They only come together with other orangutans once or twice a year for mating, and after that, mother and child groups only stay together until the child can fend for itself.
2. The Orangutan is a highly intelligent animal known for its stubborn streak. Terry Pratchett knows very well that once an Orangutan decides not to do something, there is no force on earth that can convince it to stop being so damned stubborn. That is, unless it's another Orangutan...
3. You said that you hated the cold. The Orangutan is native to Malaysia and Indonesia, which seldom experience extreme temperatures (the average temperature of Jakarta, Indonesia is 79-86 °F!).

For you, I think the Himalayan Cat would be a good choice.
1. You said in your application that you love the cold. The Himalayan, as a type of Persian cat, has a thick, warm coat with a servicable undercoat that can keep out the cold while you play in the snow.
2. This cat also has the creative markings you requested, with its bright eyes, beautiful dark mask, and pale, creamy fur that even mimics your hair color. Their faces come in pointed or flat form, so you can take your pick of markings and face shape to your heart's content.
3. You ALSO said that you wanted a form that was more commonplace, so you could spy on people. What could be more common than a simple domestic house cat? No one would look twice at a Himalayan resting on a nearby wall. Well, that is, unless they wanted to comment on its beautiful coat!
