'I thought that the homoerotic overtones of that scene were undeniable. I laughed hysterically for several hours. When they were staging it, setting up all this stuff, and we were talking it through and they were talking to the effects staff, saying things like, 'Into Duncan's eye and out and in through Methos' mouth' or something, I thought, 'Man, what are you crazy? Gillian Horvath and Donna Lettow were, as I recall, asked about the double Quickening several times. They never (that I heard anyway) elaborated on what kind of bond (if any) had been created between the two, and said that they had left the possible effects of it purposely open-ended, with no intention of explicating any further on the show. They did say that the double Quickening was something very private and personal between Duncan and Methos, and not something Duncan and Methos would really ever talk about.

But really, what WERE they thinking?
I have some sympathy for Adrian. He is clearly not comfortable with anyone thinking that he might be gay. So it has to be rather unpleasant knowing every bare-chested pic of him in existance has been photomanipulated to show him passionately involved with Peter Wingfield. And, yes, my lips are twitching with amusement as I type. But I can see how it could be irritating.
