Wow, I haven't kept up with LJ at all, have I.  I've been lurking though.  Don't think you've gone unnoticed, flist.  I've been watching you from the shadows....

Lemme just say I completely support your viewing methods this season! It's helped me a lot as well, just backing away from the fandom and not reading spoilers and just watching the show without preconceived perceptions. But I do think the show's return to its earlier seasons' feel has helped some as well. I've enjoyed these first two episodes way more than almost anything I saw in season 6. The pacing is better, the line of action is better, the dialogue... can still use some work, the way they've approached Sam's Wall break is better... I'm just super enjoying it and I can't remember being this excited to see a new episode in ages. I think this format of letting one episode's timeline flow right into the next one, like they're part of one long story, is so much more gripping, especially if done right.

I'm still holding out for Sam to get well enough to carry Dean out of the hospital. Or out of anywhere, really.

Just hold him, dammit.

Everything just feels so much more controlled this season. There aren't a hundred different story lines, and new characters, and it's just...very controlled. I feel like the writers actually have a plan. And that's good :)
