You know you can read at least some of the Japanese Newspaper articles online. 朝日、読売、毎日 all have online articles.

I have a couple of kids who write diaries in English, and they always improve, even if they only write a few sentences a day. But they're at a lower level than you, so you might have to write more than that. Although s long as you're writing more complicated things than them, that would probably just work fine.

Keep doing your Toshi translating if that's still going on.

I used a program called Anki for studying kanji for the JLPT, but you could use it just to keep up with your kanji whenever you felt like it. The weird thing is that even though I kept studying kanji, I seem to no longer be able to hand write most of them without looking them up to be sure of the strokes. >_Watch Japanese movies etc. with no subtitles. Books/magazines ( ... )

Hurray! You still read LJ! *hugs* Did you get your JLPT scores? Assuming you took it again this year.

Hmmm I might have to try this diary thing...

Sadly, Toshi no longer blogs. =/ Plenty of doujinshi to translate though...

Hmmm might also look into this program.

I might also look into convo partners as well.

Well, yeah they are but they're useful reminders/motivators. You know how I am with "just study a book on your own." I will gladly not study a book on my own! XD;

Yeah, I check it. Not too often, but I do.

I did get them. T_T I failed 1kyuu. In both July and December. *Sad* I might take it again in December after I'm back home. Or sometime after that.

Yeah, even I'm not really one for keeping diaries, but after I saw the significant progress that those students made I've been contemplating it.

If there's no clear and evaluative goal, solitary book studying is kind of difficult to maintain. Just do whatever you can, to keep your skills as level as possible. ^_~ I hope I can do so as well once I get back.

Gotcha.

Exactly! Let me know what tricks you use when you're back in Seattle!
