Happy Valentine's Day!

I am still sick. =/ Why must every cold I get decide to stay two weeks? It seems I am back to sleeping normally again though. Or I have for the past two nights so I hope this continues. *knocks on wood*

I had a last minute call-in to work today. I taught first grade and as it was Valentine's Day, we spent the day doing Valentine's Day themed things. Such as reading a book about Valentine's Day. SIX worksheets on Valentine's Day. A Valentine's Day Box contest - they made boxes to hold the cards they received and we judged another class' boxes. The winner - person with the most votes - got a box of candy.

Then they went to art, then lunch.

After lunch was in door recess.

And after that was what felt like the most HECTIC Valentine's Day party EVER. Not that I have been too often since I was in elementary school. XD; There was about 22 kids. I had 3 pass out their valentine's day cards at once. This took an hour alone. Some of them were cards, a lot of them were cards with candy or pencils.

I handed out snack. Snack was the following: a juice pouch, a short bread cookie, a snicker doodle cookie, a piece of candy, 4 little pretzels, a cupcake, and a cookie sandwich. The last two were brought in my parents and I imagine they were not supposed to.

Now, when I was in school, we might have gotten...ONE cookie tops. I am not sure how many of the kids ate all of their snack. I am afraid a lot of them got thrown out. Which feels like a HUGE waste, but I was following the teachers plans to hand out the snack. X___x (I still feel guilty though...maybe I just don't like to waste food/money or I have an odd guilt complex. I shouldn't feel guilty for following the instructions left for me to follow.)

And because I have been contemplating this, friends who study Japanese/have passed the JLPT, do you have any tips for studying? Because I feel like my Japanese is slipping away - not a good thing if I plan to be a Japanese teacher. And while I may never take the JLPT, I feel like I need to know more than I do. So any tips would be appreciated. Please keep in mind I don't live in Japan so I can't just "talk to Japanese people more" or "read the newspaper."

Where the hell did those dark clouds come from?! D8)
