We eat potatoes because they're HOMEGROWN WISCONSIN RUSSET POTATOES (even here in Mpls, they're still Wisconsin Russet)! Also, y'all have some crazy ideas about what qualifies as 'rice' and 'sticky rice', and potatoes are just nice and easy! So there!

I like potatoes way more than rice, BTW, but for a boy who grew up on what you call sticky rice, it was a huge culture shock. For us, sticky rice is a Chinese dessert thing you can only get in Dim Sum shops!
