In Memoriam

Boog's service was Friday evening. There was so much hustle and bustle leading up to it that I just didn't know what end was up. My dad ended up in the Emergency Room that morning with some weird rash that covered his body. He wasn't allowed to go to the service in the event that he was contagious -- so far, so good on that count -- so I was ( Read more... )

I've often been criticized for not crying like everyone else, but reading about Boog's service along with your feelings, it's inevitable. I am so sorry that you had to go through this at all. But, the service sounded so beautiful.

By the way, I loved the program. I learned so much about this wonderful man that I had no idea about. I wish I had been able to meet him in person.

You know how many times I wondered what was wrong with me for not crying when I lost my cousin, my uncle, my grandma, right? We all grieve in different ways, at different times. Don't feel bad for crying or for not crying -- it's human of us.

I wish you'd been able to meet him in person too. I'm sure he would've called you the Jen-erator in person right off the bat, too.

Oi!

We eat potatoes because they're HOMEGROWN WISCONSIN RUSSET POTATOES (even here in Mpls, they're still Wisconsin Russet)! Also, y'all have some crazy ideas about what qualifies as 'rice' and 'sticky rice', and potatoes are just nice and easy! So there!

Ok, serious now, check out hugs_4_ipo if you haven't already. :)

I did check out the comm, I promise. And I commented to everyone, and finally, FINALLY friended it. LOL. Man, I'm a dork on that front.

I like potatoes way more than rice, BTW, but for a boy who grew up on what you call sticky rice, it was a huge culture shock. For us, sticky rice is a Chinese dessert thing you can only get in Dim Sum shops!

Hee! Boog came home once with some sticky rice and I was like ... these are rice patties or something ... weird, and y'all laughed at me. :( THey WERE rice cake pattie things though!

Thanks, Aruna. The more I read it, the more I feel that I did him justice, and that makes me feel a lot better about the whole thing. ♥

I am so sorry that the day started out so crappy. That was so great how many people were able to get up and talk, and to have others forget the sadness if only for a little while.

It sounds very moving, and your icon is beautiful, and how you two met and got together was like something out of a book and extremely romantic.

*hugs*

One of my friends told me I should write a book about our relationship, LOL. It does sound romantic, but living in the middle of it at the time, it was sheer hell.

Thanks, Pants. You've always been there, and even though we're all the way across the country, I've always been held up through your support and prayers. I'll never be able to thank you enough for your friendship.

Yeah, I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for you two.

*hugs super tight* that's what friends are for, no matter where they live.
