^_^ Yeah, I can't write fic unless he's alive! Sorry about that, lol. It's just too depressing for me otherwise.

But yeah, I remember there being all this speculation that the Sorting Hat was a Horcrux, that Voldemort had gotten an interview just to pick something significant to make a Horcrux with (except I don't think it works like that, but then, the theory behind it is so vague and contradictory), but it makes more sense to me that he was actually wanting to gain more followers by tampering with the Hat. And it explains a lot about the Slytherins we see in canon.
