I love love love this whole narrative framework (and I have a serious soft spot for Lily). Also, just for added scientific bonus, the latest stuff I've read about consciousness does suggest that our consciousness only gets wind of what we're doing after whatever actually decides it (and then our consciousness pretends it's the one that decided it). So the premise of Lily's emotions shifting her around and then her consciousness catching up to their maneuverings fits beautifully with this.

This is what happens when you watch INSIDE OUT after reading a bunch of Lily/James fanfics. I don't know if you've watched the movie but apparently Disney (Pixar?) did a lot of research on psychological issues.

And I have a soft spot for Lily, James and all the Marauders (minus Peter, of course). I think JK Rowling drew a beautiful and tragic story with that generation about friendship and sacrifice (I don't think I have ever read a best example of what friendship should be than James, Sirius and Remus' relationship) and it still hurts me to think that they all ended up dying quite too soon (some before others).

I loved this before I even saw the movie. Now, after seeing the movie, I can say without hesitation that you did an amazing job with this!

You took that small bit of time and made it a wonderfully complex story with perfect attention to the emotions that Lily would be having and how the emotions in her head would be reacting and speaking. Fantastic!

Thanks!! It was really fun to write this fic and quite challenging to try to keep the emotions' dialogues in their own spectrum of feelings.
