Fest Announcement: Houses of Hogwarts

Hey everyone, I'm so excited to announce this term's hh_sugarquill fest: Houses of Hogwarts! We've received permission from one of your mods' favourite retired fests, hogwarts_houses, to carry on their tradition of showcasing all of Hogwarts' houses through art and fic.
All kinds of work (femmeslash, het, slash, gen, etc), all ratings up to PG-13/Teen (as per hh_sugarquill guidelines), and writers/artists of all ages are welcome. To participate, writers and artists sign up to create fan works (art, fic, yarnwork) revolving around Hogwarts or the house (and house members) they sign up to create for. Think of it as an homage, a tribute, a love letter -- or all three! -- for your favourite house (or character from a house). We'll be seeing creations about Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and of course, Hogwarts as a whole.
To ensure balance among the houses, there will be a limited number of slots available per house category, with preference to the four houses given first. Sign-ups are open to everyone -- even if you're not a member of hh_sugarquill or hogwartsishome (although joining/friending hh_sugarquill would be great since this is where we'll be posting most announcements). All fanworks will then be posted in the month of August.

Fanwork Requirements
Fic must be a minimum of 700 words and should be short enough to fit in one LJ entry and submitted as TXT files. Art should be finished, no wider than 800 pixels, and submitted as a GIF, JPG, or PNG file. Headers will be posted along with the sign-up post, and also included in the assignment email.
Submissions are due no later than 11:59pm Central on July 18, 2014. They should be emailed to sugarquillmods [at] gmail [dot] com.

Dropping and Asking for Extensions
Please contact me as soon as possible if you need to drop out of the fest or ask for an extension. The sooner we know, the better for pinch writers to step in and start working. Extension requests should be made before the deadline -- I will be sending reminder emails at least a week out so you can start evaluating whether you need it or not.
Anonymity
Because Houses of Hogwarts is not an anonymous fic exchange, you do not need to hide your assignment, nor are you prohibited from talking about your work in public. However, please do not post your submission anywhere until a month after the fest is over.
