Hey, did you know that Neil Gaiman lives in Wisconsin? For serious! He just did a talk for a school system in a small town in Minnesota and they spent $45,000 on him! *is stupefied*
And I guess they allowed people to just come in and watch . . . I probably would have gone to Stillwater, had I known about it, just to see if he was worth that much money. :)
My sister took the Third Cat (Tigger) when there were heavy frosts in February, and placed Tigger temporarily with her work collegue. We took her just before Easter to have her sterilized and find her a permanent home. It's really really stressful -- like giving a child for adoption! What if it's not a good home? What if she runs away?
For now, Tigger is bouncing everywhere and chasing our two cats like crazy -- she spent three months alone in a tiny room, because Anka's friend only came home from work in the late evening and was gone again in the morning. Tigger is making up for that lost time big time! There are unprecedented amounts of yowling, growling, meowing and hissing, though it's getting more and more amicable.
Re: Gaiman -- whoa, I wish I were a successful author and somebody paid me insane amounts of money to show up at a school! :) OTOH, he's making some of his books available for free at his website, so there's that.
