Did it make you happier?

Did it make me happier that my son betrayed himself and family? That he left me without a backward glance? No, boy, it did not.

That's not what I asked and we both know it.

He was probably the brightest hope for your bloodline's future, and he saw the old ways were outdated and falling in on themselves. You threw him away long before he left by trying to crush that.

*chuckles, dry and harsh*

He wanted nothing to do with any of us. He was tainted, spoiled, he had no respect. If there'd been some spark in him of love for his family, I would have nurtured it, but he was dead and cold.

*eyes his plot on the Black family tapestry and whistles innocently*

Cheeky. :p Walburga doesn't quite know what she thinks of Draco at the moment, so we'll say her portrait's dozing. ;)

Uh oh, is that good or bad? *G*

Hee. I think it's safe to say she probably spoiled him rotten for the first few years of his life, in a scary sort of way, but would be utterly scandalised by the whole Harry thing. ;)

You are a true bitch, Walburga Black. I hope you know that what goes around comes around.

Don't presume to speak to me, cur. You and your filthy kind took him from me.

No, you turned him away. I took him in. I showed him love. You showed him scorn.

*laughs* And he never showed scorn to anyone, did he?

He was my firstborn. Do you think I did not dote on him for over a decade? He repaid me only with betrayal.

*quietly*
I don't know if I could ever have the strength to cut away a part of my family.

*more brightly*
Which is why I suppose it is good that I only have Rodolphus and mother left, and he would never do such a shameful thing, and with mother it goes without saying.

Not many do, when it comes down to it. One gets more used to it, though, every time.

*watery smile*
*teasingly* And you would keep them in check, no doubt, Rabastan. You're a good boy for your mother, yes?

Ah! I get to use my new mummy's boy icon

I'm always a good boy for mother. She takes care of me and wants what is best for me and I love her.

And do you want what is best for her?

Hee! Walburga would be the kind to leave lipstick on young boys to annoy them. *snort*

Oh, nicely done! So nearly sympathetic - but not. :)

Thank you! Walburga will always manage to fall short of that, I think. ;)
