You know, if you wear more pvc, your being a better wife might break my heart. *grins*

I guess it depends on how you look at it. I know Azkaban wasn't the goal, but breaking those sorts of serious laws has serious and obvious penalties. Knowing that, you lot still did it, so...

I really hope it's not in the same way that PVC is distracting.

Ah, two wrongs making a right. That's a school of thought I can understand.

*she smiles gently*
No, Harry, you're young enough to be my son, though very handsome indeed. Distracting in the sense that I rather expected to feel unadulterated hatred for you.

It's not two wrongs. It's cause and effect. It there were no repercussions for breaking the laws to that extreme, what motivation would there be to keeping to them? That said, if there are abuses in Azkaban, those should be addressed.

Oh! I thought you meant I was distracting Voldemort. Which... I probably am.

*rubs his hand through his hair*
I expected the same. I guess it comes down to people being people. Most of us think we're doing the right thing or we wouldn't be doing it.

Do you think you're a bad wife?

*she laughs slightly*
Yes, they should be addressed. Did you consider perhaps though, that those abuses in Azkaban make the punishment all the more... significant? Could you devise a system that would adequately punish us, but not break your moral code?

*she bites her lip to keep from commenting on the use of his name*
Yes, you are distracting him a little. He politely requests that you hand yourself over for slaughter like a good boy so that he may continue on his way.

And you'd better not be distracting him in the same way PVC is distracting, or I shall feel quite bereft at the loss of both of you.

I'm a terrible wife. But I plan to do better. Isn't that all we can ever do?

*raises a brow*
Being stripped of your liberties is punishment enough. Anything beyond that is a vendetta and is inappropriate. It's not society's place to take revenge. Part of the reason you're locked away is to keep you from harming others further, not to have harm done to you. Not on purpose, anyway.

*ponders*
Hm. Tempting. But I think I'll fight instead.

I'm really hoping I'm not distracting in the way that PVC is distracting. It would make me blush.

*shrugs*
Maybe you're just redifining what a wife can be. But I do suppose leaving your husband in Azkaban is probably against the rules-- unless you think Voldemort's anger is such that he'd kill him if he were in hexing distance.

*her tone is light and amused, but she watches him closely*
I never liked my liberties anyway. Abuse and neglect, and mental torture at the hands of the Dementors make a much more effective punishment than merely being put in a small room. I have lived most of my life in small rooms.

*she half-smiles*
Oh well, I thought it worth a suggestion. You never stop surprising me after all.

*she winces again at hearing the name*
I think it is my sister's husband that bears the brunt of my Lord's ill will currently. Poor Rodolphus is simply not high on the Dark Lord's list of priorities currently.

*looks distant for a moment and the n shrugs*
*rolls his neck*
I spent most of my life in small rooms, as well. I can't think of anywhere I'd like to go less than to another one.

Still, I wonder what we become by sending anyone to such a place, knowing what their fate is. Even if they deerve it, I think it takes a bit of all of our humanity to do it. Maybe some would think it isn't fair that you're harder to punish and might feel less punished, but I'm not sure that what is right and what is fair are always the same thing.

*frowns*
I'll never understand why anyone would serve someone who would kill you for failure.
