It must be grand to have lovely parties to attend. *slow, empty smile* Not a thing to concern yourself with except that your hat matches your cravat.

Mr. Black, as Minister for Magic, it is my duty to stay in touch with the wizarding population. Believe me, this is strictly business. And, I will NOT be indulging in any firewhiskey with my good friend Lucius!

*sharp laugh* Yes. In touch. Clearly, you are most definitely 'in touch'. Parties and no worrying about any non-existent, not-odd, most assuredly not-goings on lately, hmm? No unexplained deaths or anything of that sort. Just... posh functions with lots of foreign dignitaries.

Charming.

Black, this is really none of your concern, now is it? I believe you have other things to worry about. Your soon-ending freedom, perhaps?

1500 G of Britain's taxes is flaunted about its Minister's neck. How wisely we manage our resources.

Actually, that is for Mrs. Fudge. My duties as Minister for Magic do include that I spend time with wizarding society. It simply would not do for Mrs. Fudge to accompany me to meet the French MoM wearing a tea cozy on her head and costume jewelry on her neck.

Then, Minister, one can only hope your successor's wife is as worthy of it in her time. For if it was a gift to your wife for her own use, it would of course have had no business on a reimbursement form.

You need better advisors, you know, Minister, or else to pay enough attention to the ones you have to know when they're tweaking your nose. Trying to impress the French with expense and gaudery will only ensure our nation their mockery.

This aboveboard embezzlement is really so perfect for him. :)

*flustered*
Well, I could hardly expect you, a simple school professor, to understand the intricacies of politics and foreign affairs. Don't you have a some hypogriff dung to bottle?

That's all right. I guess now that one of the Dementors is well fed with my de-souling, the Ministry can afford all the Wuccis, the Lord Vuittons, all the Charmès you like.
And it's good, yes, because soon the Ministry will bankrupt and you won't have the means to fight my Master...

I haven't a clue as to what you're on about. Clearly, you're a lunatic. Your "master" is no longer a problem for this ministry, or wizard-kind.

Yes, yes, keep telling yourself that, keep telling yourself that... *cackles* Oh, yes, the surprise will be so sweet, so sweet, oh yes it will...

Poor Fudgy, I think he deserves something nice, having to take care of all these loonies. *laughs*

*grins impishly*

Oh, I'm doing very well. But pardon me for saying, but I don't think burgundy is really your color.

Thanks for the advice, Harry. Are you considering a career in fashion, then? Perhaps it would put better use for your wild imagination.
