Natural disasters and Fanarts
So, hello, Hetalia wank, it's my first time posting on here, I hope I'll do that well.
Anyways, I'd like to just rant away on something that happened just now.
As most of you know(or should know), Japan just suffered a huge earthquake and a tsunami is... pretty much still going on as I talk.
I find it to be quite an awful natural disaster especially since I know people in the countries affected, and wouldn't myself think "lol Japan from hetalia, must draw 8D" (this is an imitation of a troll. Don't quote me on it please).
I don't know if it's just me getting butthurt but... Why did I find a picture of Japan named Tsunami in my deviantwatch folder?
It's not especially a bad picture in itself, it's quite good even, just... the title. No. It's probably just me overreacting since the picture is just one of Japan on a blue background. But still, that's really, really a bad idea for a title, I think it's quite insensitive actually. The event isn't even over yet, people are dying , and all that person could think of is drawing a fictionnal character?
I think hetalia was really not made to depict natural disasters, or if they use the characters to do a fanart of it they should really deal with it more carefully, not simply throwing a drawing randomly like that when most people are still shocked (once again a good way to give the fandom a bad name in my opinion.). Maybe could it be okay-ish if they had waited for a small while, but not right as it happens.
I don't know if it's enough of a wank to be here but I felt quite annoyed by that. I know there was something a bit similar about some still recent events ( 9/11?), I thought this was different enough to be mentionned though, since it happened right away, and the thing was posted approximatively 20 minutes after the tsunami hit Hawaii(if the news I got were entirely correct, it's hard to be precise when relying on the net.)
Tl;Dr:Can we really draw/write something Hetalia related on a disaster while it happens/shortly after?
