Let Writers Write

Stop telling writers how to write.

OOCness is not a problem in this fandom, and I'm tired of it being used as a way to demean otherwise well-written fics. It's an arbitrary, poorly defined term used to further the unnecessary divide between Serious and Funny in this fandom. Kind of like how "Mary Sue" is an inarguable free-for all for Fembashing in western fandom.

Character development happens in fics, and it's the core of all good writing. Yes. That will differ a little from the canon, but it doesn't change the canon.

The Dreaded History Canon? Not such a bad fucking thing in the right context. Thinking about how the characters react to different situations in history is part of what makes the series fun.

Fanfiction is a thought experiment. Just let writers write. There is little purpose to ANY fandom if you're a canon purist.
